About the Project
Samsung is revolutionizing home entertainment with its line of Smart TVs. Following the momentum of its initial debut at CES 2012, Samsung sought a way to reach its tech-savvy, early adopter audience through social media. "APPtitude" is a Facebook application that scans users' profile information and interests and then ranks them against their friends in the areas of social connections, movies, sports, and music. I was involved in every step of the development process, from writing formal technical specifications and performing comprehensive quality assurance testing to overseeing functional changes due to privacy concerns and API restrictions.
Paired with both paid advertising and organic outreach, APPtitude was part of a Facebook strategy that increased Samsung TV USA "Likes" from 25,0000 to more than 1 million in roughly 18 months.
