University of South Carolina Division of Development and Alumni Relations Website and Giving Application

About the Project

As the University of South Carolina (USC) embarked on a historic $1 billion fundraising campaign, the leaders of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations knew that a streamlined online giving process would be crucial to its success. The Division initially hired Cyberwoven to complete a comprehensive discovery project that included interviewing key stakeholders, conducting a competitive analysis, and documenting all findings and recommendations in lengthy report. Upon a successful completion of that initial project, work began on a new website and online giving application that decreased the complexity of the online giving process, complied with PCI standards, dispersed funds among three separate merchant accounts, and allowed university administrators to easily add and archive funds available for support. Throughout my tenure with Cyberwoven, my role in the USC account was all-encompassing from business development to strategic advisement to project management.

Results

  • Online giving income increased more than 30% annually
  • The online giving process was streamlined from 13 steps to 3
  • USC was able to accept mobile donations for the first time in its history
